K-Line Maintenance & Construction

We are seeking a Crane Operator to join our transmission team in Saskatchewan!

The Crane Operator will be responsible for operating various types of equipment to lift, move, position, and place equipment and materials related to power transmission infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a strong safety record, experience in utility or construction settings, and the ability to work in remote and challenging environments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate crane and hoisting equipment to lift, move, or position large objects at work sites
  • Perform pre-operational inspections, safety checks, test lifts, and load chart calculations
  • Communicate with ground crews using hand signals and voice communication
  • Manipulate a number of pedals and levers to rotate the crane, raise and lower its boom and one or more load lines. Some or all of these operations may be performed simultaneously.
  • Participate in rigging procedures when required
  • Operate other heavy equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, loaders and graders to excavate, move, load and grade earth, rock, gravel or other materials during construction and related activities as required
  • Maintain personal and group safety at all times
  • Drive crane to job site and perform complete rigging and setting up of the machine for the lift

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School diploma is required
  • Must be an Interprovincial Red Seal or have a Journeyperson Mobile Crane Operator ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Must have experience operating Hydraulic Cranes (30-100 ton)
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience operating Crane and other Heavy-Duty Equipment
  • Experience operating equipment in tight and restrictive areas an asset
  • Experience operating equipment in the high voltage equipment and alongside high voltage crews will be given preference
  • Mechanically inclined and safety focused
  • Strong communication, leadership, teamwork and customer service skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Valid Class 1A Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence
