We are seeking a Sub-Foreperson to join our team based out of Stouffville, Ontario
Job Overview
The Sub Foreperson is required to assist in overseeing the construction, installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal and inspection of electrical power transmission, distribution systems, and communication networks. The Sub Foreperson helps ensure a safe working environment for all.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the day-to-day activities of field crews, ensuring safety is a top priority
- Assist in overseeing the installation, repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical distribution and transmission systems including overhead power lines and cables, insulators, conductors, switches, transformers and other associated equipment
- Assist in the erection and maintenance of steel, wood and concrete poles, towers, and guy wires
- Serve as a mentor to all junior crew members and apprentices
- Prepare and submit required documentation and ensure compliance to corporate safety, quality and operational processes, standard operating practices, and targets
- Stakeholder communication including formal reporting on progress of jobs and projects
Qualifications and Requirements
- Interprovincial Red Seal Powerline Technician Certificate is required
- Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Certified Powerline Technician
- Completion of post-secondary program in a related field is an asset
- Valid DZ license
- Demonstrated ability to lead and effectively work with team and mentor others
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Sound knowledge of approved methods, materials and tools used in line construction and maintenance work
This posting is for an existing vacancy. Hourly rate: $59.36, subject to future increases governed by the applicable IBEW wage schedule. K-Line does not use AI technology in our recruitment process.
