Road Mechanic Foreperson

We are seeking a Mobile Mechanic to join our team based out of Emerald Park, Saskatchewan

The Road Foreperson is responsible for ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained and repaired within the agreed upon time frames with the utmost consideration for providing safe equipment for K-Line and having employees perform the work in the safest manner. This position is on the road in support of our travelling crews.

Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain medium and heavy-duty trucks and mounted hydraulic equipment
  • Maintain service documentation records and complete reports of work performed
  • Review work orders and establish priorities with Garage Foreman
  • Ensure the schedule for vehicle and equipment repairs are fulfilled as assigned
  • Trouble shoot and maintain hydraulic and electric systems
  • Continuously learn in welding, fabricating, and grinding, and gas and electric systems
  • Perform all duties in compliance with all policies, procedures and safety regulations
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license to pick up, deliver and test vehicles
  • Required to provide own tools
  • Road work on service truck as required and some overnight stay as required
  • Work on Bucket, Digger Derrick (RBD), and Crew trucks
  • Work on off road equipment, directional drills, trenchers, and plow cats
  • When not on the road, required to assist in the Fleet Shop with general duties

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working on heavy duty trucks or heavy-duty equipment
  • Leadership experience required
  • Heavy Duty Equipment Certificate is required
  • Valid Driver’s License – Driver Abstract will be requested
  • Knowledge of utility equipment is an asset
  • Hydraulic experience is an asset
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of heavy equipment, trucks and trailers
  • Accuracy diagnosing mechanical issues
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Cleanliness in working environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills as it relates to trucks and equipment
  • Strong communication skills
